"Epiphany" is a rare relic: a single strand of hair straddling the artist's transition from naivete to wisdom. The youthful and vibrant brown pigmentation in the center of the curl suddenly gives way to a silvery maturity - a coming-of-age story frozen in time. Indeed, the artist toiled daily on this piece over a period of more than three years. Here, we find the portion of the strand produced primarily between 2018 - 2021.Enclosed within a handmade rose compass starburst theca of polymer and acrylic, the double-sided windows allow this masterwork to be viewed in the round. Particularly fascinating is the ability for the background objects to influence the viewing experience. Additionally, this arrangement allows light to pass through, opening the sculpture up to dramatic lighting possibilities.Just one in an ongoing and innumerable series, "Epiphany" is a singular triumph of form and function.
